Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - Group Roles (page 2)The
narrator also directly tells the audience of Soap's role as the cautious group
member. When robbing their neighbors, Soap insists on wearing gloves. Then, in
the next scene, he is driving the getaway van still wearing them. No matter what
crazy situation the group encounters, Soap is always the voice of reason and caution.
Bacon, the fourth member, did not have a clearly defined role and acted mainly
as filler. By establishing clear group roles at the very beginning, Guy Ritchie
enables viewers to keep the four characters separate and distinct. Contact
